Cherrypepper is a pin-up style adults-only photography and design project that begun in 1998. The models are friends and like-minded artists who have final say in all published images, locations, and wardrobe. The project strives to create a little erotic reality where models become collaborators rather than silent subjects, giving all parties an active role in something they can be proud to be a part of.

cherrypepper 1

6 5/8″W x 10 1/8”H | 52 PAGES | ADULTS ONLY: In my closet-turned-darkroom I was able to complete this first issue in 1999. Without my female friends who posed for me, because they thought it sounded like a cool idea, this could have never been done. Saddle-stitched and comic-book sized, this issue features 8 models from Eugene, Oregon, in 52 pages of black and white photography. I bought my first computer and scanner specifically to try to pull off this project, I built a darkroom in a closet and bought all the old school equipment needed to develop my own film and print my own pictures with chemicals. I just started putting ads in my, completely, 100%, non-sexual zines… a call to volunteer. The first issue I was so broke I couldn’t pay my models. I compensated by offering copyright and 2 free copies. They can use the images in any way they want. And I can only use the images for this specific issue, for a specific number of published copies.
